Stamping Makes Me Hoo-ppy!!

This card kills me!! Another friend at work has a birthday tomorrow... one day she was looking at my card stash and remarked that she loved the owl cards! So, I used this guy from Cornish Heritage Farms along with FTL51 from Clean & Simple Stamping. I knew I was going to use thickers, inspired by Natasha's sample card... and then inspiration struck and I had to say "Hoo-ppy Birthday." Certainly not original but it definitely struck my funny bone... esp w/ this guy's little party hat that I added from SU's Pun Fun set. I tried to stamp the sentiment w/ Making Memories magnetic alphabet set that was given to me... but could I figure out how to arrange the stamps... spelling backwards while making sure the letters were going the right way and right side up. It was too much for me... my p's were d's, b's... every way they were not supposed to be!! At work our unit secretary laughs at me as I need her help every time I need to print on letter head!!! So, I took the easy way out and handwrote the letters!!

Thanks for looking!

More Birthdays!!

This is a quick card I made tonight for a friend at work. It happens all the time that I start a card w/ one idea in mind and end up w/ something totally different!! I started embossing the entire card front w/ a Cuttlebug folder but that just wasn't working w/ the rest of the card. So, hopefully I'll find another use for that!

I love this stamp from Verve's Beautiful You set... I watercolored using a blender pen and Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranete ink. I don't use this coloring method enough... I love the results!! Other than that, it's pretty simple!

I have to drag myself to see one more client... then it's a walk w/ Marty...assuming the rain holds off... then dinner w/ hopefully some more stamping afterwards!!

Lots of Birthdays!!

I made this card for my friend Sarah's birthday... I love these colors together and am desperately trying to use all the scraps I have before cutting into new pieces of DP. And I have ALOT of it!!!

My roommate Crystal has a birthday coming and she LOVES ice cream!! So I knew I wanted to use this Denami stamp for her birthday card! I recently found a new blog...Clean and Simple Stamping. All different simple sketches... so I kind of followed FTL 52 for this card. I used Copics to color the ice cream cone and added a little Colorbok flower.
That's it today... a couple of simple cards!! Dinner last night was SO good!!! We made pasta primavera w/ zucchini, peppers, onion and tomato. Saute w/ some olive oil and pour over pasta. Only 5 points per serving!! We added a little bit of chicken but substituted that for the provolone cheese so I think it evened out! I have leftovers to bring to work tonight. Speaking of work, I should probably go get ready!!

Inkin'....

I have a couple cards today. The first is one that my friend Dave asked me to make for his wife for their 10th anniversary. I took the picture at work w/ my phone it is not the best picture! I was really inspired, for this card and pretty much every card:), by Kristina Werner. It is a 4 1/2 square card. I cut a piece of this Kaiser DP and slipped a scrap of black behind it. I borrowed my friend Pam's Just Rite Stamper Curls set for the #10. I couldn't figure out how to work in Happy Anniversary on the front as I don't have a stamp for that. My friend Dave can be brutally honest, something I appreciate, and for some reason am never offended when he is!! But he said he really liked it!!
Details-Paper-SU Pink Pirouette, Black, Whisper White and Kaiser DP; Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black; Stamps-Just Rite Curls Monogram set; Accessories-SU Black grosgrain, Punch (Fiskars I think), Corner Rounder punch

I love this Amuse sentiment that I also borrowed from Pam... Inkin' of You. I didn't really have anything in mind when I made this... just had the supplies in front of me!!

I have to run.... Marty will be here soon. We're going to go the grocery store to get stuff for dinner then a walk. I found a WW recipe for pasta primavera, looks pretty good!! I am planning on making a concerted effort... for the 1,455,445 time... to monitor my intake. It's very frustrating b/c I don't think what I eat is unhealthy... it's not what I eat but how much. I pulled out the measuring spoons today and meausred an actual TBSP of peanut butter to put on my rice cake and it was decidedly different from the amount I usually put on! Portion sizes and desserts are my downfall!! Off for more water... I'm starving!!;)

Back in Business!

I got my computer back from HP and it is working well!! I did some stamping last night that I hope to post soon! I had big plans to get some more stamping done tonight as well as blog posts.. until I got a reminder from my boss that we are scheduled to go on a tour of a local nursing home tonight then out to dinner. I am interested to see the facility as it is one we refer to a bit, and you should never refuse a free meal... but I hate marketing ploys! And giving up my free time!! Anyway, I will post soon enough!!

I took my oldest nephew to see Harry Potter the other night. We had fun... at dinner he was telling me that as he is now almost 10, he has alot more opportunities in life. He also gave me his thoughts on the economy... he's so cute and smart, I can't even stand it!! Anyway, the movie was good! I fell asleep during the 5th Harry Potter so I was pleasantly suprised by this one. Although, it seems the movie definitely focused more on teen relationships rather than action.

Should probably get to work... :)
