TECC #71

Yay to nice roomates who let me use their computer!! This card follows Taylor's last cupcake challenge. I've done a few of Taylor's challenges and I've yet to use cupcakes!!

This card was pretty simple. I stamped the Certainly Celery layer w/ the SU Stitched background stamp. I randomly added glitter to the image which didn't turn out exactly as I pictures, as often hapens w/ me and glitter! But the rest of the card turned out as planned!!

Details-Paper-SU Close to Cocoa, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Delicate Dots DP; Ink-Clorbox chalk; Stamps-Verve Beautiful You, SU Stitchd Background and SU Polkadot punches; Accessories-Mat pack and piercer, foam tape

Spanner in the Works

This is a sad day... the wireless function on my laptop is not working. That means no internet at home... and no cable TV which means it is officially 1980 at my place!!

I called HP on Saturday night, hoping it would be something we could fix on the phone... but it wasn't. I have to send the computer in to HP to fix. The good thing is that it won't cost anything as "this is a known problem to these machines." I wish it was known to me before I bought it. It worked yesterday which was exciting but then last night, same deal!

So, I can post at work but no pictures. It's funny b/c I started to stamp last night but I didn't have it in me partly b/c I knew I couldn't post it anywhere... also the fact that it was 10:15p and I had worked all day plus worked out. That may have put a damper on things.

Will be back!!

Heirloom goodness!!

Yesterday my mom, friend Pam and I made the drive out to The Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Exhibit in West Springfield. This is my 3rd year going and have noticed that the first year seemed to be much bigger. I'm not sure if there are less exhxibitors or if I was looking at the convention through the eyes of a first timer.

Anyway, here is what I got! This convention seems to focus on products that give the more artsy, vintage look. I'm not sure if that is the way to describe it nad there is a lot of talent in the room, it's just not me. So, I get out of there w/out spending too much money!! I picked up some new Spellbinders at Marco's Paper, cute stamps from Denami Design, embossing powder and glitter from Sparkle 'N Sprinkle, more cute stamps from Outlines Rubber Stamps and copics from... I can't remember but they were a great price!!!
I can't wait to play around w/ my new stuff!! First work today then gym when I get home!

Big Puddle of Mush

I had intentions to stamp tonight but that was before I met a little thing called... Boot Camp. Tuesday night my friend Bonnie and I went to a Body Combat class that, compared to this class, seemed like a stroll through a field filled w/ cupcakes. At one point I thought you want me to do what? So, I don't how many jumping jacks, push ups, lunges, squats, laps run.... I am spent!!

Off to bed early and I'm looking forward to a Friday off. Saturday heading to Springfield for the Heirloom Rubber Stamp Convention.

More Owls

I wonder how many different owls I can some up with? Hee hee... I think this is it!! So, speaking of nocturnal animals... I woke up last night at 1:30am and NEVER went back to sleep. I don't know why but I do know that if I don't sleep tonight, I'll cry.

And I know that I love these colors together... pink pirouette and tangerine tango. The card base is Amuse. Very simple card!!

Details-Paper-SU Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette and Amuse polka dots; Accessories-SU Bright Delight Rub ons, Marvy square punch, American Crafts ribbon, mat pack and paper piercer

Mojo Monday #89

Look what was waiting for me when I get home today... my new sets from Verve!! So, I checked my e-mail this morning and found the tracking information for these bad boys. Imagine my surprise when I saw they arrived this morning... in MA... from Idaho... where they were ordered on Friday afternoon!!!! Talk about great customer service!! Well, in addition to the customer service, the stamps are so cute!! They are pretty deeply etched and give a really nice impression! So, I used the new Up, Up and Away set for this week's Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

This card was heavily influenced by this card from Jen Del Muro. I read Jen's blog every day and love her work!! I can't believe that tonight... besides dragging myself to the gym... I used Pacific Point!! Generally I'm not a fan of the bold bright family and I feel like Pacific Point is similiar. But I thought it would work well here. The sketch seems to call for a differentiation between the top and bottom... instead of using patterned paper, I stamped the little curlicue in versamark and stamped along the bottom. I like the way this card turned out!

Details-Paper-SU Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White and Kraft; Ink-Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark; Stamps-Verve Up,Up and Away; Accessories- Copics, SU Marker, foam tape, paper piercer, Marvy circle punches, Swiss Dots folder and Cuttlebug
